AFC Wimbledon forward Antwoine Hackford has completed a permanent transfer to Swindon Town. The 22-year-old striker signed a two-year deal with the League Two club.

Hackford departs Plough Lane after a single season, having joined the Dons last summer from Sheffield United. He found the net six times during his full campaign in south London. His move to the County Ground sees him become manager Ian Holloway's tenth signing of the summer window. "He becomes manager Ian Holloway's 10th signing of the summer transfer window," the outlet noted.

Antwoine Hackford arrives at a Swindon side seeking more firepower. The Robins have scored just two goals in their opening four League One fixtures, leaving them 19th in the table with four points. Hackford's experience includes a productive loan spell at Port Vale that helped secure promotion to League One. At Swindon, he will be reunited with former teammates Mitch Clark and Connor Ripley. His career began at Sheffield United and featured further loan stints at Alfreton Town and Burton Albion before his move to AFC Wimbledon.

Swindon Town's activity extended beyond the Hackford deal. The club also brought in 32-year-old defender Dan Butler on a season-long loan from Stevenage. Butler brings extensive experience from previous spells at Portsmouth, Peterborough United, Newport and Torquay. In a significant boost for their attacking options, the Robins secured striker Aaron Drinan on a new long-term contract. The 28-year-old, who arrived from Leyton Orient in February 2024, has extended his stay until the summer of 2030. Drinan has been a consistent scorer, netting 30 times in 99 league appearances for the club.

The departure of Antwoine Hackford represents a change in AFC Wimbledon's attacking resources. The Dons currently sit 19th in the League One standings, with four points from four matches and a goal difference of minus five. They are eight points behind early leaders Sheffield Wednesday. Manager Johnnie Jackson will now look to other options in his squad to provide goals. The team's immediate focus turns to their next fixture, an away trip to face 21st-placed Bromley on Monday, September 7th. Fans can view the full schedule on the club's fixtures page.

Hackford's move concludes his chapter at Plough Lane after one season and six goals.
