AFC Wimbledon secured their first away win of the season with a 2-0 victory at Bromley. The result lifts Johnnie Jackson's side to 7th in League One, a position built on 10 points from their opening six matches. Their recent form is strong, having taken six points from their last two league games.

Jayden Stockley opened the scoring inside the first 10 minutes, heading home a cross from James Tilley. It was the striker's second goal in as many games, providing the early platform the Dons needed. Myles Hippolyte doubled the advantage midway through the second half, finishing after being played through by Stockley. Hippolyte now has three goals this season, making him the club's top scorer.

Bromley's injury woes

Bromley's task was complicated by injuries to key players during the match. Goalkeeper Shamal George and defenders Deon Woodman and Richard Taylor were all forced off, leaving substitute keeper Owen Mason to see out the game. Mason did make a good stop to deny Dan Sweeney a third goal late on, after the Wimbledon defender met a Steve Seddon delivery. At the other end, Bromley's Steven Sessegnon saw a shot flash narrowly wide in stoppage time, but Josef Bursik's clean sheet was never seriously threatened.

For Bromley, it was a third consecutive defeat, the first time they have lost three in a row since joining the EFL.

Manager Johnnie Jackson will now prepare his squad for a significant home fixture. Wimbledon host Milton Keynes Dons next. The full schedule, including that derby clash, is available on our fixtures page. Stockley's partnership with Hippolyte, which yielded a goal and an assist in this match, will be central to their plans as they look to build on this encouraging away performance.
