AFC Wimbledon Academy Duo Signs with Bournemouth and Crystal Palace

AFC Wimbledon's Under-18s side has lost two talented players to the academies of Bournemouth and Crystal Palace. Centre-back Jaheim Scafe and midfielder Amaari Sealey have left the Dons for undisclosed fees, joining the Bournemouth and Crystal Palace academies, respectively.

What happened?

Wimbledon have announced the departure of two academy prospects, Jaheim Scafe and Amaari Sealey, who have signed with Bournemouth and Crystal Palace, respectively. Both youngsters played important roles for the Under-18s side that won four trophies in the 2025/26 season.

Why it matters for AFC Wimbledon

The departure of Scafe and Sealey is a significant loss for the Dons, as both players have been rewarded for their performances. Scafe joined the Wimbledon setup at the Under-13s level in 2022 and scored in one of his final games as the Dons beat Blackpool in last season's EFL Youth Cup Final.

What comes next?

Wimbledon academy manager Michael Hamilton praised the attitude and work ethic of Scafe, saying, "From the moment he joined our academy, he has consistently demonstrated the attitude, work ethic and willingness to learn that have helped him earn this move." Director of football Craig Cope also praised the academy's work, saying, "This is another example of the differing pathway opportunities we have successfully provided players through our academy and we are striving to achieve more."

As of 18 July 2026, AFC Wimbledon is 24th in League One with 0 points. The team has scored 0 goals and conceded 0 goals this season. Their next fixture is against Stockport County at home on 30 January 2027.
