Young: Safe handling when the ball was throw in at him. Reassuring. 7 Bronkhorst: Recovered from an injury and in for his competitive bow. Some excellent contributions and displayed one dazzling piece of skill as Town feasted early on. Looked the part. 8 Balker: Made a key saving challenge to deny Sasu before the break. Tons of authority and showed why he is a big player for Town. An assist to die for arrived late on. 9 Whatmough: Strong, wholehearted. What you want from a centre-half. Enjoyed it. 8 Bowat: Handed a debut to help combat the Dons’ physicality and fitted in seamlessly. 7 Fernandes: Dream start to his Town career. His first goal owed a fair bit to the inadequacies of Dons keeper Bishop; his second – cutting in from the right before unleashing a sweet left-footed drive – was perfection. Some introduction. 9 Ledson: Contribution for the second goal. A dominant force in the middle and led the side well after Mumba red. 8 Harness: Sharp as a tack early on and showcased himself as the team man that he is to put in extra yards after Mumba’s red. 8 Mumba: An adrenalin-fuelled late challenge on Ogundere ended his afternoon early when he was dismissed just before the half-hour mark. It wasn’t a nasty tackle, but was a very needless one all the same. Shame, as he’d started well. 5 Fletcher: Some of his link-up play and line-leading was of the highest order. Deserved ovation when he came off. 8 Taylor: A cherished chance from the off – his first in the league for Town since mid-October – and how he grasped it. Brilliant assist for opener. Superb showing before he was replaced at the break as the 10-man hosts stiffened up things in midfield. 8 Substitutes: Kasumu (Taylor HT) 6. Radulovic (Fletcher 63) 7. Wallace (Fernandes 64) 6. Gooch (Harness 85). 6. Low (Bowat 90+2).
