AFC Wimbledon will release four players, including defender Sam Hutchinson, after the conclusion of their League One season. Hutchinson made 24 appearances for the Dons after signing in 2024, and in the 2024-25 campaign suffered a heart attack during a game where his goal secured a play-off spot for the club. The other players leaving the club are forward Josh Kelly, and youngsters Leo Young and Ethan Sutcliffe. Kelly played 71 times for Wimbledon and last season spent time at National League side Woking where he made 21 appearances, scoring six goals. Director of football Craig Cope expressed gratitude to the departing players and their families. The club has 13 players under contract and has exercised options to keep midfielders Jake Reeves and Kai Jennings as well as winger Myles Hippolyte and forward Aron Sasu into next season. Contracts have been offered to Steve Seddon, Callum Maycock, and Harry Sidwell, while the club is in discussions with Omar Bugiel, Patrick Bauer, and Joe Lewis. The loan deals for Nathan Asiimwe, James Tilley, Brodi Hughes, Layton Stewart, and Zack Nelson have ended, and they will return to their parent clubs. Craig Cope stated that the club continues to engage openly with out-of-contract players about their future at Wimbledon. The Dons' retained list includes a 'discussions ongoing' section for players who are out of contract but still in talks with the club. The club's summer transfer activity is already underway, with several players set to leave and others potentially joining the squad.
